The Provincial Assembly (PA) of the Punjab and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) here on October 25, in the Punjab Assembly cafeteria.

Punjab Assembly Acting Speaker Shaukat Hussain Mazari and US Ambassador in Pakistan Ryan Croaker will sign the MoU, according to a press release here Monday.

The MoU is to set forth terms and details of co-operation between the USAID in Pakistan and the Punjab Assembly Secretarial concerning a programme to support the strengthening of the Punjab Assembly and the parliamentary processes in the province.

The programme is designed to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the Punjab Assembly in carrying out its legislative and representative functions.

Secretary Assembly Saeed Ahmad, US Consulate in Lahore Principal Officer Brian Heath and other senior officials will participate in the ceremony.
